No boarding yet. Need to establish ourselves and get the first part of the barn paid for.

I think the youngest student at the moment is 6 years old although there is younger girl that comes who basically gets a pony rides, the oldest is 45-50 with lots of ages and riding ability in between.

Lessons are 30 dollars for a one hour private lesson, which also includes 15-20 minutes (not included in the hour) prior to the lesson learning proper grooming, handling, and tacking of the horse.

Do you do group lessons?

When I was a young girl, we had riding lessons in a group, through the Girl Scouts.

That might be a good way to get things going.

I would be interested in a group lesson price if you have them. I would love to give my Grandbabies riding lessons.

No group lessons yet. We only have one lesson horse at the moment and are in search of another so we can do group lessons.

But what we would do if you had more then one rider is that we would do a half hour for each rider and it would be forty dollars for the two.

I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted on how it's going.

Do you have a pic of your horse?

I just love to ride, someday I hope to have my own horse again. My sister does and she loves it!!

I will think about this for my daughter. I took Western style riding lessons when I was in 6, 7, 8th grade. Never was very good at it - every weekend we went to the show and did the barrel and keyhole racing. My sister got all sorts of ribbons, but I just received "Participant" week after week. :D But, boy was it fun!

I talked to Jessica about this, and she was initially very excited about it. However, she's decided to stick with her Tae Kwon Do lessons instead. She might want to do it once, just for the novelty of it though. I'll let you know!

Farmer John, if we end up adopting the four kids we're currently matched with, I will DEFINITELY be contacting you to set up regular lessons for at least 2 of the children.

Girls and horses fall in love easily.....

Well my cousins daughter, Jennifer, when she was in college wanted a horse. They lived on the ocean in Rhode Island. She begged and begged her father who eventually gave in to his daughters demands and bought a horse for her. Of course, now he had to find a place for her and the horse to live. So it got to be more expensive as you can imagine. Horse needs quite a lot of care and room to roam. After she graduated college, she went on to become a veterarian and still has horses al ong with a husbad and family, owns a large animal clinic in Virginia and a large country estate with lots of land for her horses to roam.

Oh well, he's was very well off. A self made man. He was one of my best in -laws. We hit it off right off the bat. But unfortunatley, he passed away about 8 years ago at the age of 52 with an aggressive type of cancer. I miss him, but especially at Christmas time. He was Portugese- American, and from Rhode Island and Roman Catholic. We both would go to the Midnight Catholic Mass and come home and have a number of Martini's to celebrate the Yuletide. His Mother-in-Law, my Godmother, would holler about dirnking. Oh I said Aunt Ada go back to bed, you got a lot of work to do tomorrow. Don't worry about Russ and I, we'll be ok down here. He made a great martini. I can still taste it. And I still miss it every Christmas eve after the midnight mass.
