The wife wants to make taco's. I am not into that type of food. I heard many Mexicans aren't either.

I'll be grilling chicken breasts marinated in Italian dressing. Fresh asparagus and wild arugula & spinach salad.

Some food news........from Food Network Magazine ..........

Interesting news - Del Monte has earned FDA approval to sell a new pink fleshed pineapple. It is extra- sweet just like the yellow one.

Nestle has a Butter-finger Smoking Hot Peanut Butter Cups. It's laced with chipotle pepper. Cups should be arriving on grocery shelves this month. I gather from some food publications that Americans are craving spicy flavors in unusual new forms. They will be on sale nationwide till July.

Did you know that refried beans are most commonly made with........Pinto beans. 2nd favorite are Black Beans

Finally since the wife is going to offer taco's tonight here are some trivia facts...........
- 53% Americans prefer Soft shell; 24% prefer hard; 23% say it depends on the place
- 63% of Americans eat 3 or more tacos at one setting - how many do you eat?
- 51% Americans prefer Flour Tortillas' 49% prefer Corn
- 81% Americans warm their tortillas prior to eating them - How do you eat them?
- For Americans, Tuesday is the most popular day to eat tacos; 2nd is Saturday
- 30% of Americans eat tacos at least once a week. I must be one of the 70% who don't eat them at all
- Americans favorite taco filling - 48% beef; 17% Fish; 16% Chicken; 15% Pork; 4% Veggie
-58% of Americans had jalapenos to their tacos

And recipe for refried beans from Food Network

Last night being Saturday was NY Strip Steaks from Bliss and Cheeseburgers (90% beef) for kids (my son and his wife are not steak lovers. Sides included salad, corn, pasta alfredo, rice mixture of arborio/wild rice. Pineapple and ice cream for dessert.

Made another Easter Bread and chris made a huge amount of Easter cookie cutouts.

Today we are having a Sugar ham along with a Turkey breast (for those who do not like ham). Asparagus, macaroni salad, and salad with all the trimmings, along with Crescent rolls. Made some Prosciutto,Genoa Salami, and Bresaola spread with ricotta cheese on top and rolled up for appetizers. Wine today will be Bella Sera DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita)- Chianti, vintage 2011 from our wine cellar. This wine means beautiful evening. This wine is made with 100% Sangiovese grape from Italy's famed Chianti region.
Check out their website at:
http://www.bellaserawines.com

* DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) is the highest classification for Italian wines. It denotes controlled (controllata) production methods and guaranteed (garantita) wine quality. There are strict rules governing the production of DOCG wines, most obviously the permitted grape varieties, yield limits, grape ripeness, winemaking procedures and barrel/bottle maturation. Every DOCG wine is subject to official tasting procedures. To prevent counterfeiting, the bottles have a numbered government seal across the neck

Last night we had NY Strip steaks. Friend stopped by and we invited him to stay for one as well. Baked potato, salad from the garden, fresh picked asparagus, fried mushrooms and freshly baked homemade artisan Italian bread.

Tonight having pork country ribs on grill with salad, mushrooms, fresh picked asparagus and cantaloupe. Kids coming over and they'll more than likely not partake of ribs but wish cheeseburgers instead.

Last night being Friday (we always have fish) Made 8 pieces of Flounder Fille6ts dipped in flour/corn meal/Old Bay seasoning, asparagus and lettuce from garden. Kids came over and we made a pizza for them - they are carnivores. Called my friend and told him to stop by and have some seafood. he did.

Tonight the wife and I ate along -first time this week -had NY Strip Steaks from Palmer's on the grill with baked beans, salad from the garden, canteloupe. Great dinner.

Yesterday we had our son's in-laws over and grilled 90% hamburgers w/cheese, and cube steak with provolone cheese with grilled peppers & onions, baked beans, macaroni salad, fruit salad, applesauce.

Tonight, due to rain (what's new) preparing boneless chicken thighs in slow cooker (ala cacciatore - tomato sauce, mushrooms(crimini's), black olives)). Lettuce from several of our lettuce growing areas and asparagus again from our garden.
