Re: Hooters® to move into Labelon?

106 parking spaces will be more than adequate for the needs of the project and I suspect the developer will work out a deal with CNB to lease out some of the parking lot.

Was there any indication the City would not keep the status quo? I think you kicked a hornets nest just to see who would get stung.

Re: POLL: Shootout at the OK Corral

Think most would still like to see the hotel and recent hospitality industry studies show its needed. I would be interested in seeing this study UBO. According to a person who claimed to represent Genecco the project can not work as a hotel because it would loose money 3 months of the year, break e...

Re: Jeff touches off firestorm in Canandaigua 2020

The definition of Sanctuary City varies from one locality to the next. Most news stories fail to define what they mean by Sanctuary City.

Jeff - #1 problem when placing this suggestion is you failed to define your terms allowing others to define them for you.

Jeff touches off firestorm in Canandaigua 2020

Jeff asked the mayor to bring the topic of Sanctuary City to the City Council. The mayor broached the subject at the last PUD meeting asking for it to be put on the Ordinance Committee meeting in April. I started a poll asking for community feedback on the topic and it exploded with the vast majorit...

Re: A League of Women Voters Chapter in Ontario Co?

In all honesty I would not be a good member of this organization for the following reasons: 1) I can't be non-partisan. 2) I'd be constantly scoping out all the hot chicks like Francie and would be too distracted to participate. That being said I think it is a great organization and I have always ap...

I did not know the League of Women Voters was co-ed. I'm surprised, given our local history that we don't have a chapter.

Re: Diamond Dave's Folly construction to begin April 1st?

He is not a very public person mscales. I think his appearance at the City finance committee meeting was arranged by the City manager because he was the only one who did not seem surprised by his appearance at the meeting. He also mentioned that he had been in a meeting with Genecco and Murphy the w...

The Fire Chief has requested that the hearing on his suspension be open to the public and will be held on Thursday Feb. 16th at 10.00 a.m. at the Hurley Building on Saltonstall Street. Sound to me like he is trying to insure the public has full awareness.

City Council the School System and County need to revoke his "in Lew of tax status" . The land taken from a previous owner needs to be returned as the process used to take it would now be illegal as apartments do not meet the critera required for eminent domain proceedings. First the fire...

If a change from hotel to apartments - anywhere from 80 to 100, ranging in monthly rent from $1,850 to $3,500 - is approved, the financing picture changes, Pelusio said. Apartments potentially could serve more city residents than a hotel operation, Terwilliger said. Really? Apartments will s...

Re: POLL: City Council elections: Should we even bother?

I hear a lot of bitching and moaning here and on Canandaigua 2020. You would think people would be more motivated to run. I give every candidate a lot of credit for stepping forward to serve the community - those who are doing it for the 10th time and those who are doing it for the first.
