Conversely, here's an article that says Stewart will be indicted, and cites Tantillo's history of withholding evidence and general corruption as the reason.

Re: Tantillo swings the hammer

I served a term on the Yates County Grand Jury. There they don't waste time and money presenting cases they don't feel are almost certain to be moved on to trial. I would think Ontario would be similar in that regard. Not necessarily. It's well known that a DA can easily sway a GJ to issue the find...

Re: Tantillo: Rape victim wanted it

I was wrong. The Finger Lakes Times did , in fact, follow up and print an article about the victim's attorney refuting Tantillo's excuses. Interestingly enough, however, it was written by Jim Miller, who normally doesn't cover Ontario County Court cases, and didn't write the earlier stories. I wonde...

Re: Tantillo: Rape victim wanted it

I'd say it would be interesting to see if the local press picks up on this "shaming the victim," but they are so afraid of subpoenas and/or losing their access to "behind the scenes" information I can all but guarantee you won't. Though Mike Hibbard over at the Finger Lakes Time...

Re: Tantillo: Rape victim wanted it

He could have gotten out of this easily by just citing "reasonable doubt." Which was his original response, and not inappropriate. But from the looks of things, he wasn't/isn't used to a reporter who didn't kowtow to him. So, when challenged (by the original NY Times journalist), he dug in...

Yeah, Michigan's been doing great thanks to the unions. :e wink: Now, true to its past, Detroit is not just fading away gracefully, but noisily sick and dying, expiring as spectacularly as it once lived. Fifty years ago it was the fifth-largest city in the United States, with 1.85 million people. No...
